Because I was so excited about moving to Florida and beginning a new journey, I threw a going away party Sunday May 4 at a nightclub downtown. I had a lot of fun that night, got really drunk, and passed out at my friend's at 3am. Luckily, I had already packed most of my things and only had last-minute things to grab in the morning.
I had set my alarm, so I was surprised when I actually woke up on my own but figured that was better and would give me more time to get to the airport and catch my 7am flight. I got up, looked at my cell phone, and it was 5:45am!!! Drive time to the airport is at least 30 minutes and I had to literally RUN to the gate. Luckily I got there just in time to board the flight, but with... One bag! I had forgotten the bag with all my shoes and toiletries in it, and the shoes I had accidentally worn were mine from the previous night which were red 4 inch heels! It was too late to do anything about, so I just got on the flight. I flew to Atlanta, GA, then to Orlando, FL, and finally to Ft Lauderdale, FL. By the time I got to Fort Lauderdale, I wasn't hungover anymore and worry began to set in. "What will my new agent be like?" ... "What will the other girls in the house be like?" ... "What should I expect?" ... "What about my bag I forgot?" ... Everything was going through my mind while I waited for my agent to pull up. Soon enough, I saw a black Envoy approach the curb and a middle aged male along with 3 gorgeous girls stepped out with big smiles on their faces to greet me. Immediately I felt welcomed. I didn't know it at the time, but one of the girls in the car (who is now a well-known performer) would become my best friend.
I got back to the house, unpacked my things, relaxed, and did my photos for my comp cards. I was extremely nervous and this showed, but the next day my agent advised me that I had 5 shoots lined up and that each was paying $1050 for 8 hours of work.
Not bad!
